Hiking in New Mexico!

We went hiking on Saturday!! After getting all the gear packed (water, juice, sandwiches, grapes, sunscreen, the camera, etc.) we jump in the car and drive up the mountain. We get there and get out, get the kid in the packs and I realize.... I did not put on my sneakers... I was wearing flip flops (from when I took out the trash). Oh man, we decided to just go anyways, everything was fine until we got to a really sandy area. I slipped with Isaac on my front and fell. To protect him I caught myself by landing with my hand in a cactus! Also, I applied sunscreen on sweet baby Isaac multiple times but he still sunburned!! That is a red head for you! Derek had a blast on the hike! We saw a snake and we were worried it was a rattle snake but I do not think it was. Anyways hiking in New Mexico is very very hot because there is very little shade from trees. But a good experience and good exercise.

Success!!!

Yesterday we started potty training... and so far so good!! Derek has been using the potty with total success. This morning he pooped in his diaper while I was in the shower but other than that he has not had an accident. We even went to get the oil changed and to the store and he waited to use the potty. I am so proud of him!! Also, he loves his potty treat and he will try and try to go just to get one!!

Doctor Report

Isaac is one big boy!!

We took him to the doctor on Monday and he is in the 90th percentile for height and weight(the height is surprising because Kurtis and I are not tall)!! And his head circ. is in the 50 percentile. He is one healthy baby! This is the conversation I had with the doctor...

Doctor "He is gaining weight really well, are you nursing and bottle feeding."
Me "No."
Doctor "Just bottle feeding."
Me "No, just nursing."
Doctor " Oh man, you can try to make him wait longer between feedings."
Me "He only eats about every 5 hrs."
Doctor "Really... you make good milk. Keep up the good work."
Me "Thanks."

The thing about Isaac is he never throws up!! Derek on the other hand could not keep anything down. Isaac is such a good sweet baby and we love him so much. He is starting to laugh at different things like when Derek laughs Isaac will too! I love it. Isaac also thinks it is is hilarious when I pretend to sneeze. And the thing I love the most is when he see me he can't stop smiling!! He is a total Momma's boy and I love it!

Rolled over

Today I went into the kitchen and when I came back Isaac was on his belly!! He rolled from his back to his belly!! What a strong boy. I have a video I will upload later.

Woody!?! Buzz!?!

Derek has a new love... Toy Story! He loves Woody and Buzz! If I let him he would watch it all day. The other day when he was watching it, I told him it was time to go to the store. As I was taking him to the car he was screaming "Woody... Woody... BUZZ... Woody". It was cute. I told my mom about his new love and she knew he needed his own Woody and Buzz. He loves them and wants to take them everywhere! Thanks Mom!
