A trip on the world’s longest aerial tramway transports you above deep canyons and breathtaking terrain a distance of 2.7 miles. See some of nature’s more dramatic beauty unfold before you. At sunset the desert skies produce a spectacular array of color, and your vantage point from the observation deck atop 10,378 foot Sandia Peak in the Cibola National Forest affords an 11,000 square-mile panoramic view of the Rio Grande Valley and the Land of Enchantment.
Yes we did it! We rode the tram and loved it!! It is beautiful!

This is the top of the tram looking back into the valley!
That is the tram, kinda small but Derek was not scared at all!
A cute squirrel, this type of squirrel only live here in NM at the top of Sandia Peak!
I think this sign is funny it says "WARNING, Trail may be icy and dangerous in winter."
Derek loves my Dad so much!! They are the best of friends! He begs almost everyday to "go papa's house".
Time for a snack!
Derek is like Kurtis, scared of heights!
Out on the peak of the cliff is a shelter! That is where we are hiking.
We made it!
Taking a picture of Derek sitting still is almost impossible!
On the way back Derek fell asleep! He was way tired after hiking 3 miles!
Lunch time!! The restaurant at the top of the tram was delicious!!
Time to go back down!! If you are ever in Albuquerque, please make time to ride the tram and hike!! It was a blast and very family friendly!!
