I don't I have fingers!!! I am really concerned about Derek's love for his fingers. He wont take a pacifier he just wants to suck his hands! What do I do???

what do you do? enjoy that you dont have to take a pacifer with you everywhere you go, and start saving up for his braces in 10 years. i mean i obviously have no idea. but yeah
My kids never took pacifers. They all sucked there hands. When they could hold toys they stoped sucking there hands. Ether way hands or pacifer, not good for the teeth. Just enjoy and dont worry he will be fine.
Meg, Reed did the same thing. But like your other friend said, once they start holding toys and get a little bigger, Reed stopped that. To be honest, it is actually really nice that you wont ever have to ween him from a paci or his thumb! But the down fall is, YOU end up being the thing that soothes him, if you know what I'm saying! :) Hey, there's good and bad to everything! I wouldn't worry thought!
Meg, don't worry. Kyle does that. He actually will prefer himself to his toys. Their mouth is the most sensitive part of their body (hence everything goes in it) and they need to have stimulation in there. It was nice that he still took the pacifier when I sleep trained him, but we put the pacifiers away at three months. Kyle has been teething on and off again for about a month now and he chews on everything, especially his fingers. I talked to his pediatrician about it at his four month check-up and he was not concerned at all. He says of all the kids he sees, maybe once a year does a child not stop sucking his thumb on his own at about two years old. It helps them through the stranger anxiety phase and then they move on. If you have Derek on an eating schedule then you don't have to worry about becoming his pacifier either. Don't worry---I imagine before they had pacifiers children sucked and chewed on their fingers. It's all development baby!
